How Cancellation Hunts and Specials Work

Every year, it is guaranteed that some guys will have to cancel their hunts. Job loss, divorce, military service, and physical health are just some of the common reasons why some trips get cancelled. Often times, there might be a deposit in place that allows the outfitter to resell the same hunt at a major discount. This can mean substantial savings to the hunter who can adjust his schedule and go at the last minute.

Savings from 10 – 50% can occur on these last minute hunts, but THEY DON'T LAST LONG! Many times I sell a hunt the day I post it so make sure you check back often and take a look at this page each time you visit.

NEW - YUKON: 8 day, Remote Lake Trophy Yukon Moose Hunt or Mountain Caribou Hunt. Hunting days are during the moose rut, 9/11 - 9/18, 2010. Great area that has produced some very nice bulls. Additional animals may be taken on trophy fee basis: Moose $3,500, Grizzly $7,000, Mtn. Caribou $3,500, Black Bear $1,400, Wolverine $700, Wolf FREE! NEW - Illinois: 3 day Whitetail Deer Hunt, First Gun Season, Hunt a new camp that has not allowed hunting for 40 years! Located in McCoupin County, West Central Illinois. SPECIAL - $1,700 (plus tax and tags)

NEW - Alaska: 10 day Trophy Brown Bear Hunt in the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge Area. Great area that has produced some very nice boars. Normal price is $15,500, SPECIAL - $11,500 with $950 charter flight (plus tax and tags)

NEW - Alaska: 10 day Grizzly Bear Hunt on the North Slope of the Brooks Range. The hunt is 10 days and takes place Aug. 20-30th 2010. All-inclusive but for license/tags and the charter flight into camp. Normal price is $15,500, SPECIAL - $10,000.

Texas: Be the first to hunt this new ranch! We are running 2 whitetail deer hunts this year with 4-6 guys per hunt, meals lodging included. Licenses are roughly $330.00 which covers all of your hunting.  Airport pick up can be provided.  The local deer herd produces bucks in the 130 to 160 class with bucks better then 170 taken every year. One buck and one doe may be taken. Dates available – November 17^th – 21^st and December 15-19^th, 2010. SPECIAL - $2,995!

Idaho: Winter Mountain Lion Hunt in Idaho County Idaho, fully guided, 7 days any weapon, meals lodging included, need transportation from airport, in 2009 I hunted with them and killed a nice lion. Dates available – various dates in December 2010 and January 2011. Regular price $4,950 1x1 (plus license/tags $340.75 and tax), SPECIAL - $3,950!

TAG ALONG HUNTS
I am looking for a few good hunters to accompany me on some hunts this year and next:
1) First, I am looking to add 1-2 guys to the group I am taking to Wyoming this October for a combination Mule Deer / Antelope Rifle hunt. The dates are October 5-9, 2010 (arrive 10/4, depart 10/10). Ranch house accommodations including all meals, transportation during the hunt and 2x1 guiding for $4,450 PP plus tax and tags. If you are interested, call me right away as we need to secure Antelope Tags in early July.

2) We need one more guy to join our group of three for a September 2011 British Columbia Moose Hunt. Additional animals can be added to make this a combo and/or you can substitute Mountain Goat as your primary animal instead of moose. This is a wilderness hunt with a great BC outfitter with a proven track record for BIG moose. 3) I am trying to fill a camp for a fall black bear hunt in New Brunswick Canada. The outfitter has promised me to only take 4 hunters this fall if I can fill his archery bear camp with four clients. I had three and one guy had to back out so we are looking for two more to join the group. This is a high quality outfitter that takes only a very limited number of hunters each year. Cabin accommodations as well as all meals are included for $1,950 PP plus tax and tags. The hunting dates are during the archery season opener, September 6-10, 2010 (arrive 9/4 or 5, depart 9/11).
