Hunting equipment

  1. Sleeping bag (Aug temp. From 70 F to 20 F)( Sept & Oct May be 10 F to 0 F at night) put sleeping bag into garbage bag while hunting to ensure dryness.
  2. Thermarest –Full length warmer but you decide, bring repair kit
  3. Boots that are waterproof-with extra laces and treated
  4. Camp shoes-or if back packing something light to put on at night around the tent or to cross creeks.
  5. Blister Kit or mole skin
  6. Gore-Tex Socks
  7. Binoculars that are waterproof.
  8. Lens Cloth
  9. Hunting knife & Sharpener
  10. Daypack –if horseback hunting or riverboat hunting
  11. Backpack –Internal or external frame-with extra 2” buckle
  12. Backpack Rain fly

Clothing

  1. Socks ( 1pair for every 2-4 days)
  2. Long underwear top &  bottoms( Light for Aug) ( Mid for Sept) (heavy for Oct)
  3. Underwear (1 pair for every 2-4 days)
  4. 2 pair pants that dry Quickly
  5. 2 Long sleeve Shirts
  6. Pair of Gloves
  7. Good Raingear ( light weight & pack able for sheep hunting) Lined for moose or horseback hunting
  8. Jacket med weight wool or fleece
  9. Insulated Jacket or Vest for Sept/Oct (Down or synthetic fill)
  10. Travel Clothes for to and from motel can leave with hard case at Motel
  11. Gaitors ( gore tex) excellent for crossing creeks and wet grass mornings.

Headlamp or flashlight with extra batteries

Personal

  1. Tooth brush
  2. Lip Balm with at least #10 SPF & #20 SPF Sun Block
  3. Toilet paper for backpacking
  4. Liquid soap or Shampoo (small 2oz) with small towel or washcloth
  5. Deodorant
  6. Baby wipes Travel pack of 15 or so. Good to wash up with or instead of TP
  7. Any prescription Medication
  8. Advil or Aspirin (anti-inflammatory)
  9. Band aids and medical cream

Rifle hunters

  1. 1-2 boxes of shells with 8-10 nylon or leather shell holder for waist
  2. Gun with scope minimum .25 caliber preferred
  3. Sling & Scope covers
  4. Compact cleaning kit & cotton patches
  5. Hard case for airport travel- will be left at hotel
  6. Leather horseback scabbard or soft case if backpacking
  7. Electrical tape for barrel

Bow Hunters

  1. Compound or traditional (record brace height, knocking point, axle to axle)
  2. Extra string and cable
  3. Extra rest and site pins
  4. 2 releases
  5. Bow sling
  6. Armguard
  7. Arrows (1-2 dozen)
  8. Field points for practice
  9. Broad heads (1 dozen)
  10. String wax
  11. Allen wrenches/misc. tools
  12. Hard Case for airplane
  13. Scabbard Case if horseback hunting (Nylon or leather)
  14. Arrow tube

Miscellaneous
