Alaska-Yukon Moose
Alaska-Yukon Moose season is open from September 5th-15th in Sothwest Alaska, consisting of a eleven day hunt. The areas we hunt are the Nushagak River and the Wood-Tikchik State Park. All of the moose hunting is done out of tent camps on the rivers and lakes. You will be in a boat a lot of the time. We provide guided and unguided camps.
Moose are rutting this time of the year so our strategy is mainly calling, spotting and stalking. Average moose is 60″ plus with a good brow palmation. This area has a very healthy and thriving moose population. Huge bull potential. There are also some Brown Bears where we hunt moose making this hunt upgradeable to a combo bear and moose hunt.
